My Story

My career began as a science teacher in Miami-Dade County Public Schools and Wake County Public Schools, where I created engaging and challenging learning environments for middle and high school students. Meeting the diverse needs of my students sparked my passion for amplifying the voices of underserved populations. This foundational experience shaped my career and fueled my dedication to ensuring that technology and education are inclusive and accessible to all.

Building on my teaching experience, I transitioned into the tech industry by joining SAS Curriculum Pathways. There, I managed the lifecycle of educational science software. One of the most exciting projects I worked on was an award-winning iBook that I co-authored. This fully accessible iBook used sonification and tactile overlays, allowing users to feel and hear the images, enhancing engagement with the content.

My next step was at Cisco Systems, where I played a crucial role in fostering key partnerships and driving customer success. My ability to collaborate closely with sales teams, develop training materials, and analyze customer usage patterns was instrumental in enhancing product knowledge and customer engagement, resulting in significant business growth.

Currently, I serve as the Senior Manager of the Product Diversity Office at Lenovo. In this role, I lead a dynamic team focused on product review, advocacy, innovation, and accessibility. My responsibilities include developing strategic procedures, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards, and fostering a culture of inclusion and responsible AI practices. Through these efforts, we have streamlined operations and achieved significant advancements in product inclusivity and accessibility.
